Keep ground coriander spice in a cool, dark, and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources like stoves or ovens. An ideal storage temperature is consistently below 20°C (68°F) to prevent the degradation of its volatile oils.
Signs of Spoilage
- Significantly diminished or absent aroma: Fresh ground coriander has a distinct, warm, and citrusy scent. If it smells bland or like nothing at all, it has lost its potency.
- Dull, faded color: Vibrant ground coriander should have a light, earthy brown hue. If it appears pale, grayish, or noticeably faded compared to when it was fresh, its quality has degraded.
- Clumping or hardened texture: Exposure to moisture can cause ground coriander to clump together or become hard. This indicates improper storage and can affect its flavor and usability.
