Savor the rich flavors of your homemade chicken curry for longer by storing it correctly. This delicious dish, packed with aromatic spices and tender chicken, can be enjoyed for several days when kept chilled or even months when frozen.
Storage Time
3–4 days in the refrigerator, up to 3–4 months in the freezer.
Temperature
Store refrigerated at or below 4°C (40°F).
Freezing
To freeze your homemade chicken curry, allow it to cool completely. Portion it into airtight freezer-safe containers or heavy-duty freezer bags, removing as much air as possible to prevent freezer burn. When ready to enjoy, thaw the curry overnight in the refrigerator. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave until piping hot throughout. Freezing may slightly alter the texture of the chicken and sauce, but the flavor will remain excellent.
Signs of Spoilage
- A sour or off smell, distinct from the usual curry spices.
- Slimy or sticky texture on the chicken or sauce.
- Visible mold growth or unusual discoloration.
