Besan ladoo with ghee is a popular Indian sweet made from gram flour, ghee, and sugar. These delicious, melt-in-your-mouth treats are often enjoyed during festivals and celebrations. Proper storage is essential to maintain their texture and prevent them from going rancid.
Storage Time
2-3 weeks in the pantry, 1-2 months in the refrigerator, or up to 6 months in the freezer.
Temperature
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Refrigerate at 4°C (40°F) or below.
Freezing
Besan ladoos freeze well. To freeze, individually wrap each ladoo in plastic wrap and then place them in an airtight container or freezer bag. This prevents freezer burn and clumping. Thaw frozen ladoos in the refrigerator overnight or at room temperature for a few hours before serving. Freezing may slightly alter the texture, making them a bit more crumbly, but the flavor will remain largely intact.
Signs of Spoilage
- Rancid or off smell from the ghee.
- Visible mold growth.
- Significant change in texture, becoming overly dry or sticky.
- Discoloration or dark spots appearing on the surface.
