Enjoy your delicious cooked gnocchi for longer by storing it properly. Properly chilled, these tender potato dumplings retain their delightful texture and flavor, making them a convenient meal option.
Storage Time
3–4 days in the refrigerator, up to 2–3 months in the freezer.
Temperature
Store cooked gnocchi in the refrigerator at or below 4°C (40°F).
Freezing
To freeze cooked gnocchi, allow them to cool completely. Spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze until solid. Once frozen, transfer the gnocchi to an airtight freezer bag or container. This prevents them from clumping together. To thaw, place the frozen gnocchi in the refrigerator overnight or reheat them directly from frozen in a sauce or boiling water for a few minutes. Freezing may slightly alter the texture, making them a bit softer.
Signs of Spoilage
- A sour or off odor emanating from the gnocchi.
- A slimy or sticky texture on the surface of the dumplings.
- Visible mold growth, which can appear as fuzzy spots of various colors.
