Enjoy your delicious homemade brownies for longer by storing them correctly. Proper storage ensures optimal texture and flavor, preventing them from becoming stale or drying out too quickly.
Storage Time
3–4 days at room temperature, up to 1 week in the refrigerator, and up to 3 months in the freezer.
Temperature
Store at room temperature (18-22°C) or refrigerated (0-4°C) for extended freshness.
Freezing
Homemade brownies freeze exceptionally well. Wrap individual brownies or a whole batch tightly in plastic wrap, then place them in an airtight container or freezer bag to prevent freezer burn. To thaw, let them come to room temperature on a wire rack for a few hours, or gently warm them in a low oven (around 150°C) for a few minutes to restore their fudgy texture.
Signs of Spoilage
- A sour or off smell, indicating bacterial growth.
- A dry, crumbly texture that has lost its fudgy moisture.
- Visible mold growth, which can appear as fuzzy patches of various colors.
