Storage Time
Enjoy freshly roasted pork loin for 3–4 days when stored properly in the refrigerator, or extend its life significantly by freezing for up to 3 months for optimal quality, and safely for up to 6 months.
Temperature
Always keep cooked roast pork loin refrigerated at or below 4°C (40°F) to inhibit bacterial growth and maintain food safety and freshness.
Freezing
To freeze roast pork loin, first ensure it has cooled completely to room temperature within two hours of cooking. Slice it into individual portions or keep it whole, then wrap tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil, followed by an airtight freezer bag or container to prevent freezer burn and preserve its juicy texture. Label with the date of freezing. For thawing, transfer the frozen pork loin to the refrigerator overnight. Reheat thoroughly to an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F) before serving to ensure safety and best taste.
Signs of Spoilage
- A sour, pungent, or off-putting odor that is distinctly different from its original savory aroma indicates spoilage.
- A slimy or sticky texture on the surface of the pork loin, rather than its firm and moist consistency, is a clear sign it has gone bad.
- Any noticeable discoloration such as a dull, grayish-brown hue, green spots, or mold growth instead of its original appealing pinkish-brown color means it should be discarded immediately.
