Storage Time
3–4 days in the refrigerator
Temperature
Store refrigerated at 0–4°C (32–40°F)
Freezing
Baked potatoes freeze exceptionally well, preserving their taste and texture for future meals. Allow them to cool completely, then wrap them tightly in plastic wrap followed by a layer of aluminum foil or place them in a freezer-safe airtight container. To thaw, place them in the refrigerator overnight or reheat them directly from frozen in the oven or microwave. Freezing may slightly alter the texture, making them a bit softer upon reheating.
Signs of Spoilage
- Slimy or sticky texture
- Offensive odor, often sour or yeasty
- Visible mold growth, which can appear as fuzzy patches of various colors
