Storage Time
2–3 days in the refrigerator, up to 1 month in the freezer (best quality)
Temperature
Keep refrigerated at 0–4°C (32–40°F) to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
Freezing
To freeze a fruit tart, it's best to freeze it before adding fresh fruit, or freeze individual slices. Wrap the tart or slices tightly in plastic wrap, then in aluminum foil or place in an airtight freezer-safe container. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving. If frozen with fruit, the fruit may become softer upon thawing.
Signs of Spoilage
- Mold growth on the crust, filling, or fruit.
- A sour or fermented smell emanating from the tart.
- Mushy or slimy texture of the fruit or crust.
- Discoloration of the fruit, indicating oxidation or spoilage.
