Preserve the creamy goodness of your organic yogurt by storing it correctly. Proper refrigeration ensures its delightful tang and probiotic benefits remain intact for optimal enjoyment.
Storage Time
Up to 1-2 weeks past the 'best by' date in the refrigerator, if unopened. Once opened, consume within 5-7 days.
Temperature
Keep refrigerated at a consistent temperature between 0°C and 4°C (32°F and 40°F).
Freezing
Yes, organic yogurt can be frozen to extend its shelf life significantly. For best results, freeze in airtight containers, leaving a little headspace as it may expand. Freezing can alter the texture, making it more watery or grainy upon thawing. To thaw, transfer the frozen yogurt to the refrigerator overnight. Stir well before consuming; it's excellent for smoothies, baking, or cooking where texture changes are less noticeable.
Signs of Spoilage
- Unpleasant, sour, or yeasty odor.
- Visible mold growth, which can appear as fuzzy spots of various colors (green, black, pink).
- Significant separation of liquid (whey) that doesn't reincorporate with stirring, or a change in texture to a watery or curdled consistency.
