Soft Mysore Pak with Ghee is a traditional Indian sweet made from gram flour, sugar, and generous amounts of ghee. Its rich, melt-in-your-mouth texture makes it a delightful treat, but proper storage is essential to maintain its quality and prevent spoilage.
Storage Time
2-3 days in the pantry, 1 week in the refrigerator, or up to 2 months in the freezer.
Temperature
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Refrigerate at 4-7°C (40-45°F) for extended shelf life.
Freezing
Soft Mysore Pak with Ghee can be frozen to extend its shelf life. Wrap individual pieces tightly in plastic wrap, then place them in an airtight container or freezer bag. To thaw, transfer the frozen Mysore Pak to the refrigerator overnight or let it sit at room temperature for a few hours. Be aware that freezing may slightly alter the texture, making it a bit more crumbly.
Signs of Spoilage
- Development of a sour or rancid smell.
- Visible mold growth on the surface.
- Significant change in texture, becoming overly dry or sticky.
- Discoloration or darkening of the ghee.
- Unpleasant or off-putting taste.
