Savor the rich, smoky flavors of tender barbecue pulled lamb, a versatile dish perfect for sandwiches, tacos, or platters. Properly stored, this delicious shredded lamb can be enjoyed for days to come.
Storage Time
3–4 days in the refrigerator, up to 3 months in the freezer.
Temperature
Store refrigerated at or below 4°C (40°F).
Freezing
Barbecue pulled lamb freezes exceptionally well. Allow the cooked lamb to cool completely before portioning it into airtight containers or heavy-duty freezer bags. To thaw, transfer the frozen lamb to the refrigerator overnight or gently reheat it from frozen using a low heat on the stovetop or in the oven. Freezing may slightly alter the texture, making it a bit softer, but the flavor remains excellent.
Signs of Spoilage
- A sour or off odor that is distinctly unpleasant.
- A slimy or sticky texture on the surface of the lamb.
- Visible mold growth, which can appear as fuzzy patches of various colors.
